Success Rate Comparison of Nasolacrimal Duct Probing with and without Assistance of Nasal Endoscope in Congenital Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction

Objective: To compare the success rate of nasal endoscopic assisted probing and simple in congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
 Study Design: Quasi-experimental study.
 Place Duration Study: Eye department, Combined Military Hospital, Malir Cantt, Karachi, from Feb 2018 to Jun 2019.
 Methodology: A total 100 children were randomly divided into two groups. Each child both groups underwent duct. In one group, was performed, patency confirmed with metal on touch. second a endoscope employed visualize probe passage through opening inferior meatus. fracture turbinate performed every case when utilized. if meatus narrow. The epiphora resolution recorded at 1-month postoperatively. 
 Results: 96% (48 out 50) probing-group 82% (41 (p=0.02). had 40% (20 significant bleed, endoscopic-group, bleed 20% (10 (p=0.02).
 Conclusion: Nasal has higher than obstruction.
